A Letter from Our Interim President

Dear Friends of the Ontario Museum of History & Art,

It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the Interim President of the Ontario Museum of History & Art Associate Board. As we begin a new chapter together, I want to take a moment to welcome both our newly appointed board members and the dedicated individuals who have continued to serve our organization year after year. Your passion, time, and commitment are what make this museum such a special place in our community.

For those I have not yet had the opportunity to meet, my name is Sommer Garcia, and I have had the privilege of serving on the Associate Board in several capacities, most recently as Director of Technology. Professionally, I work in marketing and business development, where I focus on helping organizations connect with their communities. Throughout my career, I have believed that every organization has a story worth telling, and our museum is no exception.

As we look ahead to the coming year, we hope to expand community engagement, support educational programming, strengthen our volunteer network, grow our membership, and continue finding creative ways to share Ontario's rich history with residents of all ages. We also look forward to hosting events that bring people together and create lasting memories while supporting the museum's mission.

None of these goals are possible without the support of our community.

Whether you choose to become a member, attend an event, volunteer your time, sponsor a program, or make a financial contribution, every act of support helps preserve the history of Ontario for generations to come. Donations directly impact educational opportunities, exhibitions, community programming, collections preservation, and the many initiatives that allow our museum to thrive.

As we begin this new year, I invite you to become part of our journey. Visit the museum, bring your family, attend an event, share our story with a friend, or consider making a donation. Every contribution, regardless of size, makes a meaningful difference.
